Civic Hybrid Oil Pressure Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Honda Civic Hybrid displayed an oil pressure warning, potentially due to oil contamination from exceeding the maintenance interval. The issue was suspected to be related to the oil's color and consistency, indicating possible contamination or a clogged filter. Upon inspection, the oil was found to be significantly contaminated. After an oil change, new filter installation, and cleaning, the problem was resolved.

I haven't checked the dipstick yet. I will check the oil color tomorrow. Is there a specific color or consistency I should be looking for that indicates significant contamination?

Yeah, if it's sludgy, really dark brown, or even black, that’s a bad sign. Fresh oil is usually a light amber color. If it is, then I would not drive the car and get it directly to the workshop. I did the same back then.

Thanks for the advice! The oil looked pretty bad. I took it to a shop. They confirmed oil contamination due to the maintenance interval being exceeded. The oil change, new filter, and cleaning cost 165€. Everything is fine now.

Hey! I also have a Civic, although the regular gasoline version. I had similar issues with the oil pressure light. What does the oil color look like when you check the dipstick? Is it darker or thicker than usual? Could be the oil filter is clogged too.
