Hey again! Thanks for sharing your experience, it's really helpful to know I'm not alone with this! My issue sounds pretty similar to what you went through. I ended up getting it fixed last month, and yep, there was some wiring damage involved too. Curious though, do you remember roughly how much you had to pay for the whole repair? Also, has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other electrical quirks popping up? The reason I ask is that my dashboard's been showing some weird readings lately. Nothing major, but you know how these things can sometimes be connected... Cheers!

Hey again! Great to hear back from you! Yeah, I totally get your concern about those dashboard readings. After my repair, I'm happy to report it's been smooth sailing all the way. The Hall sensor issue was actually simpler than my first experience, just needed a cable fix which set me back 95€. Way better than what I initially went through with the whole control module drama! I remember being worried about follow-up problems too, but honestly, everything's been working like a charm since the repair. The power tailgate's been opening and closing perfectly, and no more warning lights to stress about. If you're seeing weird dashboard readings, though, might be worth getting those checked just to be on the safe side. These hybrids can be tricky with their electronics sometimes. The mechanic this time really knew their stuff, such a different experience from that first repair I told you about. They spotted the cable issue right away and sorted it out much quicker than my previous ordeal. Much less painful on the wallet too! Let me know how those dashboard readings go, always curious to hear about other hybrid owners' experiences! Cheers!

Hey thanks for all that info! You won't believe what happened when I finally took it in! Turns out my situation was quite different from what I expected. The mechanic found that a small rodent had made itself comfortable under the hood and chewed through some of the wiring, definitely not what I was expecting! Cost me about 200 bucks for the repair, which included replacing the damaged wires and cleaning up the mess our little unwanted guest left behind. The funny part is, my original mechanic who I wasn't too happy with actually recommended this new guy, and he was fantastic! Super transparent about everything, showed me exactly where the damage was, and even gave me some tips to prevent future rodent visits. The whole thing took just a few hours, and the tailgate's working perfectly now. Those weird dashboard readings I mentioned? All cleared up too, guess it was all connected to the same wiring issue. Thanks again for sharing your experience, really helped me get over my hesitation about getting it checked out. Sometimes these car problems turn out to be way simpler than we imagine! Take care!

Hey there! I actually faced something similar with my '19 Honda Insight Hybrid last winter. The power tailgate issue turned out to be more than just the Hall sensor in my case. The main control module for the tailgate was faulty, and there was a damaged wiring harness that was causing intermittent connection problems. At the garage, they found that moisture had gotten into the wiring system and corroded several connections. The warning light was definitely a red flag, just like in your situation. It wasn't just a quick fix; they had to replace the entire wiring harness assembly and the control module. Mine happened around 165,000 km. It's definitely not something you want to ignore, the corrosion can spread and cause more electrical issues if left unchecked. The repair took about a day and a half in my case, but it's been working perfectly since then. Hope this helps with your decision!
