CLA Hybrid Charge Air Temperature Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Mercedes CLA hybrid was experiencing a charge air temperature sensor error, resulting in a check engine light, power loss, and a whistling noise during acceleration. The issue was suspected to be related to a defective cable or plug connection. After investigation, it was found that a corroded connector on the charge air temperature sensor was the cause. Cleaning the connector and applying dielectric grease resolved the problem.

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't checked the airflow sensor specifically, I was focusing on the charge sensor. When you say 'way off', what kind of readings are we talking about? Any specific pins or wires on the connector I should be paying extra attention to?

Well, my air temperature readings were completely erratic. I'd advise you to take it to a workshop and get it checked out. It is probably an issue with the engine sensor.

Appreciate the insight! It turned out to be a corroded connector on the charge air temperature sensor, just as you suspected. Cleaned it up, applied some dielectric grease, and the error's gone. Total cost: 95€ for the sensor. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

Ugh, sounds familiar. I had a similar experience with my CLA. Whistling and power loss are no fun. Have you checked the airflow sensor and the connection to the charge sensor itself? A loose connection can cause issues. Is the air temperature reading plausible, or is it way off?
