Clarity EVAP System Leak
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Honda Clarity hybrid experienced a check engine light and occasional stalling at idle, with diagnostic codes indicating a fuel tank ventilation system leak. The issue was suspected to be related to the EVAP system, possibly due to a defective activated charcoal filter. A suggestion was made to check the purge valve and listen for hissing sounds when opening the fuel cap. The problem was confirmed to be the defective charcoal filter, which was subsequently repaired.

Thanks for the insight! Regarding fuel efficiency, it's definitely dropped a bit. And yes, there's a slight hissing sound when I open the fuel cap. You really think it might be the same charcoal filter issue? Did it cause any long-term problems?

Based on your description, it seems highly probable that the charcoal filter is the culprit. I would strongly suggest taking your Clarity to a qualified workshop for a comprehensive diagnosis. A defective filter can definitely lead to further complications within the EVAP system if left unaddressed.

Took it to the shop, and you were spot on! Defective activated charcoal filter was indeed the problem. Repair cost me 275€. Thanks a bunch for your help diagnosing this, saved me a lot of guesswork!

I had a similar issue with my Clarity. The symptoms sound very familiar. What kind of fuel efficiency are you seeing? Any unusual hissing sounds when you open the fuel cap? If the pressure sensor detects a system failure, it will trigger that check engine light. It might also be worth checking the purge valve.
