I'm having a technical issue with my 2017 Honda Clarity electric. It has about 40311 km. I've noticed what feels like gearbox slippage or unclean shifting. The workshop found a transfer case oil wear fault. Could this be from defective gears in the transfer case?

I also drive a Clarity. Your description sounds familiar. Have you seen any oil leakage around the transfer case? That could mean mechanical wear. Do you know what gear oil they're using or recommend for the oil change?

Given the symptoms and the 'transfer case oil wear fault' diagnosis, plus your mileage, have them really check the transfer case's internal parts. In my case, it was more than just an oil issue, so I'd suggest a deeper look.
