Clio Active Hood Fault

Yeah, the error code does seem to point towards a faulty acceleration sensor. Is that a common issue? And was it a pain to fix on your Volvo? I'm trying to gauge whether it's something I could tackle myself or if it's best left to a professional.

On the Volvo, it turned out to be a defective impact sensor. Not a difficult fix itself, but getting to it was a pain as it was behind the bumper. I'd still suggest getting it checked out at a workshop, especially since it's related to safety systems. Ended up costing me around 350€ including labour.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like it's best to get it professionally diagnosed and repaired. I've booked it in at a local garage; they reckon it's likely the acceleration sensor and quoted 315€, parts and labor included. Hopefully, that'll sort it out. I'll post what happens when I get the car back.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Volvo V40. Kept getting a warning about pedestrian protection and airbag lights. Did the error code point to any specific sensor? Could be the acceleration sensor, which is part of the active hood system – it triggers the hood to pop up slightly in a pedestrian collision to lessen the impact.
