Clio cruise control failure
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Renault Clio hybrid experienced a cruise control failure at 56,593 km, with the system refusing to engage and an error stored in the memory. Possible causes suggested included a blown brake light fuse or a faulty throttle position sensor, both of which can affect cruise control functionality. The issue was ultimately traced to a defective cable/plug connection, which was repaired, restoring the cruise control to working order.

Thanks for the tips! Where exactly is the throttle position sensor located? And how would a blown brake light fuse affect the cruise control?

The throttle position sensor is usually near the accelerator pedal. As for the brake light fuse, the cruise control system is designed to disengage if it detects a problem with the braking system since you might need to brake suddenly. I'd take it to a workshop; they'll diagnose it properly.

Okay, thanks for the advice. Took it to the shop, and it turned out to be a defective cable/plug connection. They fixed it for 95€, and the cruise control is working again.

I had something similar happen in my Clio. First, check your brake lights; sometimes a blown fuse there can disable the cruise control as a safety measure. Also, give the throttle position sensor a look - if that's faulty, it can mess with the system. By throttle position sensor I mean the sensor that measures how far down you're pressing the accelerator pedal.
