Clio Defrost Air Distribution Flap
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Renault Clio diesel is experiencing issues with the defrost air distribution flap, leading to low heating output and windshield fogging. The problem is suspected to be a defective cable or plug connection affecting the HVAC unit. Suggested solutions include checking the blower motor resistor and relevant fuses, but the primary issue appears to be with the air distribution flap. It is recommended to take the car to a workshop for professional repair.

Thanks! The blower motor seems to work at all speeds. Which fuses should I check? And where is the blower motor resistor located? I thought the resistor controls the voltage to the blower motor, which could affect performance and air distribution.

If the blower motor works on all speeds, the resistor probably isn't completely dead, but it could still be partially failing. Check the fuses for the HVAC control panel and the blower motor. Your owner's manual should have a diagram. But with an error code and less heat, the air distribution flap issue is probably the main problem. Unless you're comfortable working on the HVAC unit, a workshop might be best. They'll have better tools.

Thanks, I think you're right. I'll take the car to a workshop to fix the defective cable or plug connection for the defrost air distribution flap. The repair will cost about 95€. Thanks again!

That's tricky! I'm no expert, but when you say 'defective cable or plug connection,' have you checked the blower motor resistor or the ventilation system fuses? A blown fuse could cause low heat and affect the air distribution. Also, is the blower motor running at all speeds, or only on high?
