Clio diesel brake feedback
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Renault Clio diesel with 169,524 km is experiencing strange brake feedback, suspected to be due to worn discs and potential undervoltage issues. The worn discs are identified as a likely cause of the problem, with suggestions to check the brake fluid level and consider the impact of undervoltage on ABS behavior. The issue is resolved by replacing the worn discs and pads, restoring normal brake function.

Fluid level is fine, topped it up just last month after a service. I had a look at the discs but they're hydraulic brakes, surely they would last longer. What sort of undervoltage related brake issues have you seen before?

Ah, right. I haven't personally seen undervoltage messing with brakes, but I've heard it can cause weird ABS behaviour. Given the worn discs anyway, sounds like a job for a proper workshop.

Appreciate the input. Took it to the shop; you were spot on. Discs and pads were toast. Got them replaced for 240€. Back to normal now.

Worn discs can definitely cause that feedback, especially if they're metal on metal. Have you checked the brake fluid level? Low fluid can also cause pedal issues. When was the last time the brakes were replaced?
