Clio diesel engine power loss

I'm having a weird issue with my 2017 Renault Clio diesel. It's got about 53k km on the clock. Recently, the engine power has been noticeably reduced, and the check engine light keeps popping up. The engine runs rough, and it jerks when I accelerate. Sometimes it even stalls when idling. I'm getting a 'mixture preparation error'. Could it be the catalytic converter? I already tried cleaning the throttle body, but it didn't help. Any ideas?

Hey, sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot – though it was a petrol engine. Those symptoms… reduced power and rough running… turned out to be a fuel injection problem. Have you checked your spark plugs or looked at the injectors?

Thanks for the reply! You mention a fuel injection problem... Was it a rich mixture too? Was it difficult to diagnose? I'm wondering if it's worth messing with myself or just taking it to a workshop.

Yeah, it was running rich. Honestly, diagnosing it was a pain. I'd suggest getting it checked by a professional unless you're really comfortable with fuel injection systems. Could save you a lot of headache!

It was the fuel injectors! Took it to the shop, and they confirmed one injector was defective. Cost me 515€ to replace. Runs like new now! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
