Clio diesel particulate filter exhaust pressure too low
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Renault Clio diesel is experiencing reduced engine power, a flashing warning light on the speedometer, and excessive smoke with a strong odor during acceleration. The issue is identified by an error code indicating low diesel particulate filter exhaust pressure. The suspected cause is a faulty exhaust back pressure sensor. Replacing the sensor resolved the problem, restoring the car's performance.

Starting isn't hard, it turns over normally. Just the low power, smoke, smell, and that darned light. What was your issue, and how did you fix it?

Mine was the exhaust back pressure sensor, just like your friend suspects. If it's that, you need to go to the workshop to get it fixed.

I'll get it checked out at the shop. Turns out you were spot on. It was the exhaust back pressure sensor, exactly as you and my friend suspected. The repair cost me 245€, but at least the car is running smoothly again. I appreciate your help!

I had something similar happen with my Clio. Not sure what year mine is exactly, but the symptoms you describe sound familiar. Was it hard to start too?
