Clio fuel flap issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Renault Clio Hybrid experienced a fuel flap issue where it stopped opening, accompanied by an error message and some unavailable vehicle functions. The problem was identified as a faulty electric actuator controlling the release mechanism. The suggested solution was to have it checked at a workshop, where the actuator was replaced, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is that actuator located? And is there any way to test it before I start ripping things apart? I'm decent with a wrench, but electrics aren't my strong suit.

On my Clio it was near the fuel filler neck, behind the trim in the trunk. Testing it directly is tricky without proper diagnostic tools. Considering the symptoms you described and the error codes, a defective linkage in the release mechanism is likely. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. I'm afraid you may not be able to fix it yourself.

Thanks a lot for your help, I appreciate it! I took it to a local workshop, and you were spot on – the electric actuator was faulty, and its replacement plus labour set me back 210€. Everything's working fine now.

I had a similar problem with my Clio. I don't remember the year of production but seems like the same model. The fuel filler flap wouldn't open. The problem ended up being the electric actuator that controls the release mechanism. Have you checked that?
