Clio headlight washer failure
Summary of the thread
The headlight cleaning system on a 2001 Renault Clio has stopped working, affecting both the headlight and windshield washers. Possible causes include a leak, clog, bad cable connection to the pump, or a faulty relay. A shared pump for both systems might be the issue, and checking the fuse box is suggested. Since the fuse is fine and no pump noise is detected, professional diagnosis is recommended to check connections and the pump itself.

Thanks! I checked the fuse, and it seems fine. I haven't heard any strange noises, but I'll listen more closely next time. When you had this problem, was there no fluid at all, or just a weak stream? And how did you fix it?

Mine was a complete blockage, no fluid at all. Since the fuse is good and the pump isn't making noise, it might be worth getting a professional to check the connections and the pump itself. I took mine to a workshop because I didn't want to risk making things worse.

Got it. Sounds more complicated than I thought. Thanks for the advice; I'll book an appointment with a mechanic to get it diagnosed. Appreciate you sharing your experience; hopefully, it won't cost too much (I've been quoted around 165€).

I had a similar issue with my Clio. From what I remember, the windshield and headlight washers share a pump. Have you checked the fuse box? Any weird noises coming from the pump when you try to use the washers?
