Interesting, thanks for the hint! Where exactly is that main relay located, and is there a way to test it before just replacing it?

The relay is in the engine compartment. It's difficult to pinpoint exactly where it is in your car. I'd suggest heading to a workshop; they can diagnose the problem quickly. If it's the main relay, replacing it should solve the issue.

Took it to the shop. You were spot on – the main relay was defective! Replacement cost me about 120€. Runs like new now. Thanks a lot for the help!

Reduced power and ECU errors on a Clio sound familiar. I had something similar some time ago on my Clio. Check the main relay that feeds the engine control unit (ECU). When that relay starts to fail it can cause intermittent power loss to the ECU which will log errors and affect performance. A relay is basically an electrically operated switch.
