Clio Hybrid Engine Stall

My 2023 Renault Clio hybrid has an intermittent check engine light, frequent engine stalls at idle, and reduced power at 172751 km. I suspect a defective fuel volume regulator, possibly from a failing high-pressure pump. Has anyone had similar symptoms? Any diagnostic insights before I face 1510€ repair costs?

Hey! That sounds rough. I had a similar problem with my old Peugeot 308, though it was petrol. The check engine light was always on, and it would randomly die at stoplights. My mechanic mentioned car sensors messing things up and leading to engine misfire. Is your idling rough too? It might be a fuel regulator thing like you said.

The idling is quite rough, especially when the engine is cold. The misfire is also more pronounced under load. Did you pinpoint the fault in your Peugeot, and did it involve the fuel regulator or high-pressure pump? I'm trying to gather data before committing to an expensive repair.

Yeah, after diagnostics, they figured out it was something to do with the fuel system, but not the exact same part as you suspect. Honestly, with those symptoms and the cost you're looking at, it sounds like you've done your homework. I'd just bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. Save yourself the headache.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Following your advice and a more thorough diagnostic assessment, the high-pressure pump was indeed the culprit, leading to the fuel volume regulator malfunction. The repair cost 1510€. Hopefully, this thread will help other Clio owners facing similar issues.
