Clio hybrid power loss after tuning

Chip tuning... hmm, yeah, I actually did get it tuned a while back. It was supposed to improve fuel efficiency. You think that could really be the cause, even after all this time? What exactly went wrong with your Astra after the tuning?

In my case, the garage confirmed the tuning was the culprit. Apparently, it messed with the engine's air-fuel mixture. The fault code was related to that. They had to re-flash the ECU – basically, reset it back to the factory settings. I’d strongly suggest taking your Clio to a reliable workshop and have them check if the tuning is causing the fault. It's a common issue, and they'll be able to diagnose it properly and potentially reverse the changes, but it can cause severe damage to your engine if left unchecked. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks a ton for the insight! I booked it in with a local garage, and you were spot on. The chip tuning was indeed the culprit – causing all sorts of problems! They reversed it, and the car's running perfectly again. Cost me 180€ to get it sorted. Lesson learned – no more tuning for me!

That sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Opel Astra, although it was a petrol model. Reduced power and a fault code popping up. Did you happen to get any third-party chip tuning done? Fault codes often indicate a deviation from the expected parameters, which can happen when the engine control unit (ECU) is modified in a way it wasn't originally designed for. A scan tool reads these codes from the ECU.
