Thanks! I checked the battery terminals, they seem clean and tight. The voltage looks fine too. This is the first time it's happened, and no, I haven't been tinkering with anything lately. Could it really be just a defective cable or plug connection, as the error suggests? Where should I even start looking for that?

Yep, sounds eerily similar to what I went through. After chasing my tail for a while, it turned out to be a corroded connector in the ignition circuit. Honestly, unless you're comfortable with electrical testing, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. I ended up paying around 95€ for them to diagnose and fix it. Is it worth spending hours troubleshooting when a pro could sort it quickly?

I appreciate the advice. It sounds like it might be beyond my capabilities. I'll book it in at a workshop and mention the possible corroded connector in the ignition circuit. I'll share the outcome. Thanks again!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my Clio, though I can't recall the exact error code. The engine wouldn't crank. Did you check the battery terminals for corrosion or loose connections? Sometimes a simple voltage drop can trigger weird errors. Has this happened before, and have you recently worked on your car?
