Clio injection fault

Having trouble with my 2021 Renault Clio Hybrid. It's got around 60799 km on the clock. Recently, I've noticed the injection system seems faulty. The fuel consumption is way higher than usual, and the engine power feels significantly reduced. Sometimes it even stalls when idling, which is quite concerning. I've also seen some smoke when accelerating, which definitely wasn't there before. I've checked for any obvious leaks and made sure the air filter is clean, but no luck so far. Any ideas what might be causing this?

I had a similar issue with my Clio. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the fuel injectors? A defective connection there can cause all those symptoms – higher fuel consumption, reduced power, stalling, and even smoke.

That's interesting! Where exactly are these connections located, and how would I check them? I'm not super familiar with the injection system layout.

They are directly on top of the engine. Given the symptoms, and that I don't know your mechanical skills, I'd suggest getting it checked by a workshop, could be a defective cable or something else.

Turns out it was a defective cable plug connection as you suspected. The workshop replaced it, and now everything is running smoothly again. Cost me 95€, which is a lot less than I feared. Appreciate the help!
