Clio multifunction steering wheel failure

I'm having a nightmare with my 2022 Renault Clio diesel. The multifunction steering wheel is completely dead. Nothing works, like the radio controls, cruise control – nada. I ran a vehicle diagnostics scan, and it's throwing up an error stored in the error memory, but doesn't specify. I'm suspecting a dodgy cable connection in the steering wheel itself, maybe a connectivity problem. Has anyone else experienced this malfunction?

I had something similar with my Clio (petrol, though). All the steering controls went kaput. Did the malfunction indicator light up on your dashboard? If so, have you tried checking the control module? It could be a software glitch.

Yeah, the malfunction indicator lit up! Where exactly is the control module located, and is it something I can easily check myself? I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to vehicle diagnostics, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

The control module is a pain to get to, you need to remove the airbag and steering wheel first. It sounds like the same issue I had, and I ended up taking it to a workshop. They confirmed it was a defective cable connection, exactly like you thought. Cost me about 95€ to sort.

Thanks for the info! I appreciate you sharing your experience. Sounds like I'm heading straight to the workshop then. Hopefully, it'll be a quick and cheap fix, just like yours. Cheers!
