Clio rail pressure sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Renault Clio with a gasoline engine exhibited symptoms such as an illuminated check engine light, occasional stalling at idle, and reduced engine power. Diagnostics indicated a faulty rail pressure sensor signal as the likely cause. The suggested solution was to check the wiring and consider replacing the sensor, which ultimately resolved the issue after the sensor was replaced.

Thank you for your response. It's a gasoline engine. The car has 207797 km. The fuel filter was replaced approximately 30000 km ago. Could that still be a factor?

Okay, gasoline engine eliminates some common diesel fuel injection issues. 207797 km is getting up there. While 30000 km on the fuel filter should be fine, a faulty pressure sensor is the most probable culprit given the diagnostic code. You could try checking the wiring to the sensor, but honestly, sensor failure is common. A garage visit for a proper diagnosis seems wise.

Thank you for the advice. I appreciate the confirmation regarding the sensor. I've decided to replace the rail pressure sensor. Repair cost 240€. The issue is now resolved.

A faulty rail pressure sensor can indeed cause those symptoms. Is it a diesel engine? What mileage are we talking about? When was the fuel filter last changed, as that can sometimes affect fuel pressure readings? Definitely a tricky situation!
