Clipper brake pedal feedback
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Nissan Clipper owner experienced strange feedback from the brake pedal, described as inconsistent and almost like something was "fighting back." Potential causes include low or contaminated brake fluid, worn brake rotors, or electrical issues affecting the ABS system. A similar case was resolved by addressing an undervoltage problem that caused the ABS to malfunction. A thorough diagnostic check at a workshop is recommended to identify and fix such issues.

Thanks! Good pointers. When you say 'similar issue,' was the pedal feedback inconsistent too? Did it feel like something was 'fighting back' when you pressed it?

Yes, the pedal feedback was indeed inconsistent, almost a pulsing sensation when applying moderate pressure. While checking the brake fluid and rotors as previously suggested is prudent, the underlying cause in my case turned out to be undervoltage in the vehicle causing the ABS system to act erratically. I'd recommend a thorough diagnostic check at a reputable workshop to rule out any electrical issues affecting the brake system's performance.

Appreciate the advice! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – undervoltage was messing with the ABS. Repair cost was 240€, but at least it's fixed. Thanks again!

I had a similar issue with my Clipper's brake system some time ago. Strange feedback from the brake pedal can stem from several potential problems within the hydraulic brakes. Check the brake fluid level and condition first. Low fluid or fluid contaminated with air can definitely cause a spongy or inconsistent pedal feel. Also, inspect the metal brakes, specifically the brake rotors, for any signs of wear or damage.
