Clipper Gear Shift Indicator Blank

I'm having a strange issue with my 2018 Nissan Clipper with a gasoline engine. The gear shift indicator display is completely blank. I can't engage the gears properly, the automatic transmission seems to be shifting at random, and the gearbox slips and shifts really roughly. There are grinding noises when shifting, and the gear selection display in the speedometer doesn't work at all. I scanned it and there's an error stored in the memory, but I don't have the specific code right now. I suspect it might be a defective control unit. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I had something like that happen with my Clipper. The gear indicator went haywire, and the transmission started acting up. Does it feel like it's stuck in one gear sometimes, or shifts really hard?

Yes, exactly! Sometimes it feels stuck, and other times it slams into gear. Was it definitely the control unit in your case, and what was involved in fixing it?

Yep, same symptoms. For me, it was the control unit. A workshop visit is unavoidable, as they have to adapt the new unit to the car. I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but better now than getting stranded.

Thanks for the confirmation! I was hoping it was something simpler, but I guess I'll take it to a workshop to get the control unit replaced. At least I have a better idea of what's going on now. I'll post here after the repair (they quoted 1000€).
