Clipper headlight auto leveling fault
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Nissan Clipper owner is experiencing issues with the headlights, specifically a fault in the auto-leveling system, causing the low beams to misalign. Possible causes include loose electrical connections or a faulty control module related to the auto-leveling feature. It is suggested to check the connectors and consider professional diagnostics, as the issue was ultimately traced to a defective servomotor, which required repair at a workshop.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, mine has the auto-leveling feature. Where exactly is that control module located? And how would I check if the servomotors are defective? I'm not sure what the normal acceptable tolerances are.

The control module is often near the headlight assembly itself, or sometimes under the dash on the driver's side. Honestly, checking the servomotors properly is tricky without the right diagnostic tools. Given the symptoms and the auto-leveling, it might be best to get it checked out by a workshop. Could save you a lot of headache.

Appreciate the advice. Took it to a local shop, and turns out it was indeed a defective servomotor in the headlight like I suspected. Cost me 1040€ to get it sorted. Thanks again for confirming my initial suspicions!

I've got a Clipper too, though a slightly older model, and I remember a similar issue cropping up. First, check all the electrical connectors going to the headlights, especially around the servomotors that control the beam adjustment – could be as simple as a loose connection. Does your Clipper have the auto-leveling feature for the headlights? If so, that control module could also be a culprit.
