CLK Airbag Warning Light and Rollover Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Mercedes CLK diesel had a persistent airbag warning light and an error code indicating a rollover sensor malfunction. The issue was suspected to be caused by a defective control unit, which was confirmed upon professional evaluation. Replacing the control unit successfully resolved the sensor malfunction and turned off the airbag warning light.

To clarify, were the error codes you observed specifically referencing the rollover sensor, or were they more general airbag system faults? Could you elaborate on the location of the wiring harness you inspected? Did the issue manifest following any particular event, such as a minor impact or significant vehicle movement?

Okay, so I'm no expert, but yeah, it did point to something about crash detection. Honestly, I didn't get too deep into the technical stuff. The harness I checked was right near the sensor itself – it's somewhere under the center console, if I remember right. I didn't have any accidents or anything, just started happening out of the blue. If yours is throwing rollover sensor codes and the airbag light is on solid, you're probably looking at the same thing. I ended up just taking mine to a shop, and they replaced some control unit. Cost me a pretty penny, but at least it's fixed, hopefully. Might be worth getting a pro to look at it. Good luck!

I appreciate your insights. After careful consideration, I have opted for a professional evaluation. The control unit was indeed found to be defective and needed replacement. The repair was successful, resolving the rollover sensor malfunction and turning off the airbag warning light. Thank you again for your assistance.

Whoa, sounds serious! I've got a CLK too, and something kinda similar happened to me last year. Airbag light was on, and the computer was throwing codes about some sensor. Was it constantly on, or did it come and go for a while? Mine would flicker at first, then stay on solid. Did you check the wiring harness to the tilt sensor itself? Heard those can get corroded or something.
