I have not yet tested for voltage drops across the fuses, but that is an excellent suggestion. Could you elaborate on how you performed that test on your CLK? Any specific fuses you recommend checking first?

Voltage drop testing is pretty straightforward. You'll need a multimeter. Basically, you set it to millivolts (mV) and probe both sides of each fuse while the circuit is under load. A significant voltage drop (like over 50mV) indicates excessive resistance and a potential problem in that circuit. I would start with the fuses related to the ignition and fuel pump. Honestly though, if you're not super comfortable with electrical diagnostics, it might be worth getting a shop to take a look. Could save you a headache and potential damage. It cost me around 290€ to sort mine.

I appreciate your detailed explanation and advice. Given the potential complexities involved, I have decided to take the vehicle to a trusted workshop for a thorough diagnosis and repair. Knowing the potential areas of concern, such as the Ignition Switch, Fuse Box, and potential Power Supply issues causing the Voltage Drop, will undoubtedly assist them in their assessment.

That sounds familiar! I had a similar gremlin in my CLK, though mine's a bit newer. Terminal 30 issues are nasty. Definitely check the battery first, but don't rule out the ignition switch. A bad fuse box can cause havoc too! Have you tested for voltage drops across the fuses? That can point you to the circuit that's causing the problem.
