Clubman cylinder pressure issue

I am encountering a troubling issue with my 2019 Mini Clubman diesel. I'm observing fluctuations in cylinder pressure, accompanied by increased fuel consumption, diminished engine power, and the check engine light is now illuminated. From my research, this seems to be a consequential error stemming from an underlying issue. I am wondering if the camshaft, fuel injector or the timing belt could be the source of the error. Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Fluctuating cylinder pressure can be a real headache. I experienced something similar with my Clubman. Have you checked the turbocharger? A leak there can sometimes manifest in unpredictable ways.

Thank you for the suggestion. I had not considered the turbocharger specifically. Did you observe any other symptoms alongside the pressure fluctuations? Were there any diagnostic trouble codes that pointed you in that direction?

Yes, the check engine light was on, and the symptoms match what you describe pretty closely. I suggest you get it looked at by a workshop. They will be able to read the fault codes and pinpoint the issue for you.

I took your advice and had it checked at the workshop. It turned out to be a faulty sensor on the intake manifold causing the misreading of the cylinder pressure. No replacement needed, and recalibration solved the issue. Cost me nothing!
