Clubman Diesel 2017: Problems and solutions for electric windows
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Clubman Diesel owner is experiencing issues with electric windows not functioning properly and suspects a malfunction of the window regulator. A similar issue in a 2015 Cooper Diesel was caused by a defective cable connection, which was resolved at a garage. Before visiting a specialist, checking the fuses is suggested as a potential simple fix. The owner plans to have the issue inspected by a professional and will share the outcome for the benefit of others facing similar problems.

Hey, thanks for replying. I drive a 2017 Clubman, I haven't done anything yet because I only recently noticed the problem. My mileage is 42000 km and the last service wasn't that long ago either. Strange that new problems can arise so quickly, isn't it? But your experience sounds helpful. I'll probably have it checked at the garage first.

Hello again! It's really amazing how quickly problems like this can occur, especially when the car is relatively new and well maintained. But before you go to the garage, you could perhaps try checking the fuses - sometimes it can be that one has blown and the window no longer works as a result. In my case, as I said, it was a cable problem, but it could also be the window regulator itself, as you suspected. It's definitely a good idea to have it looked at by a specialist. From my own experience, I can tell you that it won't necessarily be cheap, but everything should work perfectly again afterwards. If it is your window regulator, I would be grateful if you could share your experiences here. It might also be of interest to other readers. So, keep us up to date and good luck with solving the problem!

Thanks for your recommendations and advice. Checking the fuses sounds like a good first step, I will definitely try that. And of course I'll share my experience when the problem is fixed. Hopefully someone else who encounters this problem can also benefit from it. I'll get back to you when I have news. Thanks again and have a great day!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Cooper Diesel. Despite my limited experience with cars, I had to have it repaired at my garage. In my car, however, a defective cable connection was the cause. I had to pay around 155 euros, which was a bit expensive, but everything ran smoothly again afterwards. Which model do you have exactly? And have you already taken any measures to fix the problem? Maybe I could give you a few more details when I know a bit more!
