CMAX Automatic Transmission Failure

I'm facing an issue with my 2007 Ford CMAX diesel. At 214693 km, the automatic transmission seems to be failing. The torque converter lock-up clutch appears defective. Symptoms include the check engine light and transmission indicator illuminating, gearbox slippage, unclean shifts, grinding noises during gear changes, and an error stored in the memory. Has anyone encountered something similar with this model?

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar problem with my old Renault Megane, although it manifested slightly differently. Check engine light and the occasional jerky shift. Could your torque converter issue be linked to the valve body? What codes are you pulling?

Thanks for the input. Valve body, you say? Interesting. I haven't explored that avenue yet. What makes you suspect the valve body, and were your symptoms consistent with mine, especially the grinding noises during shifting?

Well, the grinding is new. On my Megane, the valve body was causing inconsistent pressure, leading to those jerky shifts and the error codes. Ultimately, I'd suggest a workshop visit. They have the tools to properly diagnose it. Was a costly job to fix on the Renault!

Understood. Appreciate the insights and the heads-up about the potential cost. I took it to a trusted workshop, and you were right; the automatic transmission converter was indeed defective. Repair cost came to 2120€. Thanks again!
