CMAX brake light error

Anyone seen this before? My 2019 Ford CMAX, gasoline engine, now at 111773 km, is throwing a brake light error. The lights themselves aren't working, and I'm getting a message on the infotainment screen. Error memory also stores the issue. Could a bad brake light switch really cause all this?

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Ford CMAX was experiencing a brake light error, with the lights not functioning and an error message displayed on the infotainment screen. The issue was suspected to be caused by a faulty brake light switch, potentially triggered by recent hard braking. Replacing the brake light switch resolved the problem, restoring the brake lights to full functionality.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar! I have a Ford CMAX as well and had something similar happen a while back. Was it after you maybe had to brake hard?

Brake hard? Well, maybe a few times recently. Why do you ask? Did it happen to you after some hard braking?

Yeah, that's exactly what triggered it for me. I'm no expert, but it sounds like it could be related to that brake switch. I ended up just taking it to a workshop to get it sorted.

You were spot on! Turns out it was the brake light switch. Replaced it myself, cost me nothing since I had a spare one lying around. Everything's working perfectly again. Thanks for the insight!
