CMAX Defrost Issue

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2007 Ford CMAX (gasoline engine). The defrost seems totally useless. I'm getting an error code about the defrost air distribution flap, and the heat output is really weak. I'm thinking it's a cable or plug problem with the flap motor itself, but I'm not sure where to even start looking. Anyone else run into this? It's driving me nuts with all the windshield fogging!

I've seen that exact problem in a CMAX before. The HVAC unit's defrost flap motor is a common failure point. Check the error memory first.

Thanks! Yeah, error memory says it's the defrost air distribution flap motor. Is it really likely to be the cable or plug? Where exactly should I be poking around to find it? Any tips on getting to the darn thing?

The cables and plugs are often the culprit, however, without proper diagnostic routines it can not be said for sure. I advise a shop visit for further diagnosis.

Okay, thanks for confirming! I suspected as much. Bit the bullet and took it in. Turns out a wire had come loose. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!
