CMAX Door Lock Failure
Summary of the thread
The 2014 Ford CMAX experienced a door lock failure, suspected to be due to a faulty door contact signal. Initial checks of the fuses showed no issues. A suggestion was made to inspect the wiring harness, particularly where it flexes between the car body and the door, as wires can become brittle and break. Upon professional inspection, a defective plug connection in the wiring harness was identified and repaired.

Thanks for the tip. Where exactly should I be looking in the wiring harness? Is there a specific plug connection that's known to be problematic?

In my case, it was a broken wire right where the harness flexed every time the door opened or closed. It's a pain to get to, honestly. I'd recommend having a workshop take a look. They'll have the proper tools and diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the fault in the wiring or the door switch itself. I eventually caved and took mine in.

Appreciate the insight. Turns out you were right. Took it to the shop; they found a defective plug connection in the wiring harness. Repair came to 95€. Thanks again!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. The automatic locks went haywire. Have you checked the wiring harness where it passes from the car body into the door? Those wires can get brittle and break, causing intermittent or complete signal loss.
