CMAX Fuel Pressure Sensor Issue

I'm having a head-scratcher with my 2011 Ford CMAX gasoline. The check engine light is on, and it's running super rough, especially at idle – sometimes it even stalls! Plus, it's jerking like crazy when I try to accelerate. I've got about 184841 km on the clock. I plugged in an OBD scanner, and it's pointing to a defective fuel pressure sensor. Could a bad cable or plug connection really cause all this chaos? Anyone else experienced similar?

Thanks for the reply! When you say wiring harness and connector, where exactly should I be looking? I mean, is it pretty obvious once I'm under the hood, or do I need to start dismantling half the engine bay to get to it? And how did you figure out it was a wiring issue specifically?

Alright, so on mine, the connector was right near the fuel rail – not buried, but you gotta poke around a bit. Honestly, I didn't figure out the wiring issue myself. After poking around for a bit, I gave up and took it to a workshop. They diagnosed it pretty quickly. Seriously, save yourself the headache and let the pros handle it. A faulty sensor connection can lead to more trouble down the road. You don't want to risk messing up the fuel injection, right?

Thanks a million for the advice! I was hoping it would be a simple fix, but you're right, messing with the fuel system sounds like a recipe for disaster. I took it to my local garage, and you nailed it – turned out to be a corroded connector on the fuel pressure sensor. New connector and sensor installed, cost me 95€ and she's running like a champ again! Appreciate the heads up!
