CMAX Key Battery Low Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Ford CMAX is displaying a 'key battery low' warning, with keyless access not functioning and difficulty in locking/unlocking. The likely cause is a dead key fob battery. The suggested solution is to replace the battery and clear any stored errors, which may require a visit to a shop.

Thanks. The key fob is completely unresponsive, even right next to the car. Do you remember what the fix was in your case?

Sounds like a dead battery. I tried replacing it myself, but the error stayed. Took it to a shop; they confirmed it was the battery, replaced it, and cleared the error memory. Cost about 37€.

Thanks for confirming. I'll take it to a shop for a battery and error clearing.

I had something similar with my CMAX. Is it totally dead, or does it work sometimes if you hold it right next to the door? Could be just the battery, or something else.
