CMAX Transmission Pressure Sensor Fault

Gearbox oil level, huh? I didn't even think to check that! Where exactly do I find that, and is it something I can easily top off myself, or am I looking at a trip to the mechanic?

It's worth a look. On mine, there's a dipstick for the transmission fluid, usually located near the transmission itself. Check your owner's manual; it should have a diagram. If it's low, you can try topping it off, but honestly, with those symptoms, especially the grinding noise, it might be best to get it checked out by a professional. Could save you a bigger headache and expense down the road. Turns out I had a small leak, and that's why the level was low.

Thanks! I checked the oil level, and it was indeed low. I took it to my local garage, and it turns out the pressure sensor was faulty, and there was a small leak. They replaced the sensor, topped off the oil, and did a pressure test. Cost me 365€, but at least it's running smoothly again. I really appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I've got a CMAX too, and I had almost the exact same symptoms a while back: transmission warning light, weird shifting, the whole shebang. The error code pointed to something similar, like a faulty transmission sensor or pressure issue. Did you check your gearbox oil level by any chance? That was the culprit in my case.
