Colorado Clutch Pedal Switch Issues

Hey, I'm having some weird issues with my 2009 Chevy Colorado, gasoline engine. It's got about 21251 km on it. Basically, I think my clutch pedal switch is acting up. I'm getting an error stored in the computer, the gear selection isn't showing up on the speedometer, the cruise control won’t engage, super annoying on long drives, and sometimes, the engine just won’t start at all! I did a bit of digging, and it seems like it might be a faulty cable or plug connection to the switch. Anyone else run into something like this? Any ideas before I take it in? Thanks!

I have experienced comparable symptoms in my Colorado. Your analysis of a potential issue with the clutch pedal switch's wiring or connector seems reasonable. It's akin to a loose wire in a lamp—the connection is intermittent, leading to unpredictable behavior. To assist in diagnosing the problem, could you please provide additional details regarding the specific error code stored in the error memory? Furthermore, have you observed any correlation between the occurrence of these symptoms and specific driving conditions, such as temperature or humidity?

Thanks for the reply! I don't have the exact error code with me right now, but I can check it later. As for the driving conditions, it doesn't seem to be tied to anything specific. It happens regardless of the weather or how long I've been driving. It's like a lottery every time I start the truck. Could you tell me a bit more about the issue you had? Did you have the exact same symptoms, and how did you fix it?

My experience mirrors your description closely, including the intermittent nature of the symptoms. The diagnostic outcome indicated a defective clutch pedal switch, which necessitated replacement. Replacing the switch rectified all aforementioned malfunctions. Given the potential safety implications associated with a malfunctioning clutch pedal switch and your limited expertise, it is advisable to seek professional assistance from a qualified automotive technician. The estimated repair cost appears reasonable, and the potential consequences of a faulty switch justify the expenditure. It's like entrusting a heart surgeon to a complex procedure. While you might research, the outcome would be better with a specialist.

Thanks so much for the info! Sounds like I'm on the right track, but I'll definitely take it to a shop. 95€ isn't too bad, and it's worth it to get it fixed right. I really appreciate the help!
