Thanks for the suggestion! The timing belt was changed not too long ago. I wonder if it's still related to the cam sensor, even with a newer belt. How did you eventually fix the issue on your Astra?

Well, I tried messing with the sensors myself, but no luck. Eventually, I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a faulty crankshaft sensor causing the whole mess. They replaced it, and the car ran like new again. Probably best to get it checked out professionally.

Appreciate the insight! I'll take it to a workshop and see what they say. I guess it's not always something you can fix yourself. Hopefully, it's just the sensor, and the cost is around 340€. Thanks again!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. Check engine light, sluggish performance, the whole shebang. Did you check the timing belt? A worn timing belt can cause synchronization issues between the crankshaft and camshaft.
