Colorado sunroof not initialized error

I am experiencing an issue with my 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, gasoline engine. The sunroof is displaying a 'not initialized' error. Symptoms include the sunblind getting stuck, the convertible top being completely inoperable, and the sunblind failing to retract/extend. Coding has been carried out on the vehicle recently, could this be the cause?

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Chevrolet Colorado is experiencing a 'not initialized' error with the sunroof, causing the sunblind to get stuck and the convertible top to be inoperable. The issue arose after recent coding related to lighting adjustments, raising concerns about unintended impacts on the sunroof's computer. It was suggested to perform a proper scan to identify error codes, leading to the resolution of the problem through reinitialization at a workshop.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Whoa, that's quite a list of problems all stemming from a 'not initialized' error! It definitely sounds like the coding you mentioned could be the culprit. What kind of coding was performed? Did you perhaps try to change any sunroof-related parameters or settings? Have you checked for any error codes using an OBD scanner? Knowing those codes would be a huge help in pointing us in the right direction.

Thank you for your reply. The coding was related to some lighting adjustments. I did not specifically alter any sunroof settings. I have not yet checked for specific error codes. Could the lighting adjustments have unintentionally impacted the sunroof's computer?

Okay, lighting adjustments shouldn't directly affect the sunroof... but with modern vehicle electronics, anything is possible! It's like a house of cards sometimes. The best course of action would be to get a proper scan done. If it's just a simple initialization error, a workshop should be able to sort it out quickly and cheaply. Until you have those codes, we are just guessing.

I appreciate your advice. I took it to a local workshop, as you suggested. They reinitialized the sunroof system. The total cost was 75€ Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
