Combustion Misfire AMG GT Experts Needed

I'm facing a rather annoying issue with my 2023 Mercedes AMG GT, gasoline engine. It's clocked 129491 km. Recently, the engine's been running rough, and the check engine light is now a permanent fixture on my dashboard. I'm experiencing jerking during acceleration and a noticeable drop in engine power. I plugged in my OBD scanner, and it's throwing codes indicating combustion misfires. I've done some preliminary checks – visually inspected the ignition coils, but everything seems fine. Could a faulty fuel injector be the culprit here?

Summary of the thread

The 2023 Mercedes AMG GT is experiencing rough engine performance, a persistent check engine light, jerking during acceleration, and reduced power, with OBD codes indicating combustion misfires. Initial checks of the ignition coils showed no issues, leading to suspicion of a faulty fuel injector as the cause. A similar case suggested replacing the injector, which resolved the problem, confirming the defective fuel injector in cylinder 3 as the culprit.

Dude, combustion misfires are the WORST. Sounds exactly like what happened with my AMG GT. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure it out! Did you check your fuel injectors? I had similar symptoms: rough idle, check engine light partying on my dash, and the car felt like it was gasping for air when I tried to punch it. I'd put money on a bad fuel injector. Which cylinder is misfiring?

Thanks for the quick response! The OBD scanner is reporting misfires in cylinder 3. Is that what you experienced? And if so, did you try anything before replacing the injector, like cleaning it or using fuel injector cleaner?

Yep, cylinder 5 was my problem child. Honestly, I tried the fuel injector cleaner route. It helped a tiny bit for maybe a day, but the misfire came back with a vengeance. Save yourself the headache and just replace the injector. Book it into a workshop, seriously.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! I followed your advice and took it to a trusted shop. Turns out, you were spot on. A defective fuel injector in cylinder 3 was indeed the issue. Replaced it, and the car's running smoothly again. Total repair cost was 515€. Appreciate the help!
