Combustion Misfires Fuel Injector

Hey, I'm hoping someone can help. My 2022 Lexus UX hybrid with 217115 km is running really rough, and the check engine light keeps popping on. It's jerking a bit when I accelerate and doesn't seem to have the same power. I pulled the error codes, and it's showing combustion misfires. Could it be something simple like the ignition coil or spark plugs? Or am I looking at something more serious, like a fuel injector problem? Has anyone else experienced this?

Combustion misfires in a Lexus UX hybrid? That does not sound good. Given the symptoms and error codes you described, a defective fuel injector is a plausible cause. However, before jumping to conclusions, have you checked the basics? When was the last time you replaced your spark plugs? A faulty ignition coil could also trigger misfires. Have you inspected them for any signs of damage or wear? I assume you have already ruled out simple issues such as low fuel or contaminated fuel?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't replaced the spark plugs recently, so that's definitely something I can check. As for the ignition coils, how would I go about inspecting them? I'm not really sure what to look for. Also, if it is a fuel injector issue, is that something I can tackle myself, or am I better off taking it to a professional?

Inspecting ignition coils involves looking for cracks, burns, or any physical damage. You can also use a multimeter to test their resistance, although this requires some technical knowledge. Regarding the fuel injectors, while it is technically possible to replace them yourself, it is generally recommended to seek professional assistance. Fuel injection systems are complex, and improper installation can lead to further issues. It also could turn out to be an ECU issue, which you can't fix without special tools. It may be best to consult with a trusted workshop to have it properly diagnosed and repaired.

Thanks again for the detailed advice! I took it to my local mechanic, and after some diagnostics, it turned out to be a defective fuel injector, just as you suspected. Got it replaced, and now the car runs like new again. The total cost was around 515€, appreciate the help!
