Connectivity Issues with 2020 Dacia Duster: Seeking Solutions for Smartphone and GPS Syncing
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Dacia Duster owner is experiencing connectivity issues with their smartphone and GPS. A similar problem was resolved in a 2021 Dacia Sandero by updating the software on the Engine Control Unit (ECU) and realigning the CAN-BUS systems. The suggested solution is to visit a garage for a software update, which previously cost around 45€, and has proven effective in resolving such connectivity issues.

Hey, good to hear that your Sandero is back on track! I think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and head to the garage then. It's a bummer but hey, gotta get that GPS running right. By the way, if it's not a big ask, do you recall how much you had to pony up for the software update and that CAN-BUS realignment thingy? And since fixing, has your ride given you any more connectivity grief or was that the end of it? Cheers in advance!

Hey! I totally understand those budget concerns. Fixing the temperamental gadgets and doodads can get a bit pricey, right? So, the stab-in-the-pocket, if you catch my drift, was 45€. That covered getting my SFU and CAN-BUS beasties singing the same tune again. Not too bad, I reckon. And the good news? Since my visit to the kindly wrench-wielders, it’s been smooth sailing. The connectivity has been tickety-boo, no problems at all. It seems the fix really did the trick! Remember, you only need to sort it once, and it'll keep you on the right path for miles to come. Good luck with your Duster!

Thanks for the hot tip, dude! 45€ doesn't sound too steep at all, considering I expect peace of mind and a cooperative GPS in return. I guess it's just a matter of finding a trusty garage this time around, eh? Your story's given me relief; I was overthinking the problem could be some hi-tech glitch. But this sounds like something mechanics deal with every now and then and that it's an all-fixed kind of situation. Off to the garage, then, with my misbehaving Duster! Fingers crossed, it won't give any more problems post-treatment. Thanks again your input is much appreciated. Cheers!

Hey there, I totally get that hassle. I had a similar issue with my 2021 Dacia Sandero not long ago. The ole girl just wouldn’t connect to my phone or GPS. Visit to the garage? Yep, that's exactly what it took. Don't worry, it wasn't a major issue. They pinpointed the problem to unstable software on the ECU (Engine Control Unit). Essentially, they had to update the software and that did the trick. Also, they realigned these things called CAN-BUS systems, to make sure everything was on the same frequency. Seems the connection problems were more software than hardware. Remember to back your stuff up before handing over your car, just in case. Hopefully, this gives you a bit of peace of mind. Best of luck!
