Convertible top fault and warning light on the 2019 Renault Twingo Diesel
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Renault Twingo Diesel owner is experiencing issues with the convertible top not functioning and a warning light appearing on the speedometer. The problem may be linked to improper programming of the sunroof. A similar issue was resolved by re-coding the sunroof, which is a sensitive component requiring correct calibration. The solution involved a mechanic visit and a cost of €75, after which the car functioned properly without further issues.

Hey, thanks for your info! Your experience does sound a bit worrying. Can you remember how expensive the repair was for you? And has anything else come up since then that could be related to the problem? You never know if there's more to these things.

Hi, of course I can answer that! After I had my Twingo Diesel at the mechanic, the problem with the sunroof was fixed, it really only had to be re-coded. The cost of the coding that had to be done on the vehicle was €75 in total. Quite a lot of money, but since then everything has been running smoothly again and there has been nothing else that has come up since then or had anything to do with the old problem. I hope your repair won't be too expensive and that your car will be back in shape quickly!

Hi, wow, that really is a relief! Thanks for the information, really good to know that there were no further problems afterwards. It sounds like I should expect to pay about the same amount for the repair. Well then, fingers crossed for the mechanic visit! Thanks again for your help.

Hey buddy, I had a similar problem with my 2016 Renault Clio Diesel. I had problems with the codes on the vehicle. Like you, I also had warning lights in the speedometer and some functions on my car weren't working properly. It turned out that my sunroof needed to be re-coded. That was quite a serious problem. The mechanic told me that this is a very sensitive part of the car and needs to be calibrated correctly. It took a while to get everything done, but after that the car ran like new again. Hopefully your problem is not as complicated as mine.
