Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check the water pump. About the cooling fan, how can I know when it runs more than usual? What should I check on the water pump, any obvious signs?

Well, if you hear the cooling fan kicking in really often, even on cooler days or short trips, that could be a sign the engine is running hotter than it should. As for the water pump, look for any signs of dried coolant around it. It often leaves a crusty, reddish or whitish residue. Honestly, though, if you're not comfortable poking around too much, it might be best to get a mechanic to pressure test the system. It's a quick way to find small leaks.

Took your advice and brought it to a workshop. Turns out it was a leaky hose connecting to the radiator, like you suggested with the water pump. 52€ later, and the Peugeot is running smooth. Thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. Check engine light and everything. Coolant disappearing, but no obvious puddles. Turned out to be a tiny leak in the water pump. It was so small that the coolant was evaporating before it hit the ground. Is your cooling fan running more than usual?
