Corolla Coolant Loss

I've got a 2006 Toyota Corolla with a diesel engine. Recently, the coolant level dropped pretty low, triggering the check engine light. I pulled the error code, and it's definitely related to the low coolant. I've checked for obvious leaks around the radiator hoses and the water pump area, but haven't spotted anything major. The cooling fan seems to be working fine. Head gasket maybe?

I had something similar happen with my Corolla, though mine is a newer model. Coolant disappearing, but no visible leaks. Turns out it was a slow leak somewhere internal. Was your coolant level REALLY low?

Yeah, the level was below the minimum mark in the reservoir. I topped it off, but I'm keeping an eye on it. How did you figure out it was an internal leak? Any other symptoms besides low coolant?

Honestly, I didn't figure it out myself. I just kept adding coolant and eventually took it to a workshop. They pressure tested the system and found the leak. Best to get it checked professionally.

Thanks. I appreciate the insight. I had a pressure test done, and it was a small leak near the thermostat housing. The repair, including new coolant, was only 52€. Sorted now.
