Corolla Hybrid engine jerking

I haven't inspected the fuel pump, oxygen sensor, or fuel injectors. Since it's a hybrid, could the electric motor be contributing, or should I focus on the internal combustion engine?

While the electric motor could technically contribute, the jerking and error code strongly suggest it's combustion-related. Hybrids are designed to seamlessly blend power, so a failing electric motor usually manifests differently. Since you haven't checked the other components, and keeping in mind the error code, a leak in the exhaust system might cause such effects. Best to get it checked by a trusted workshop.

I had the car inspected, and it was indeed a leak in the exhaust system. The repair cost 265€. The car is now performing optimally. Thanks for the assistance.

Uneven running in a hybrid can be tricky. The check engine light and jerking definitely point to something amiss. Could be ignition-related, like a failing coil. However, with hybrids, it can also be fuel delivery. Think of it like a relay race - if one runner (cylinder) isn't performing, the whole team (engine) suffers. When was the last time you checked the health of components such as fuel pump or oxygen sensor? Are the fuel injectors working properly?
