Corolla hybrid intake air temperature sensor issue

My 2019 Toyota Corolla hybrid is throwing me for a loop. Check engine light's on, feels like I'm towing a boat uphill, and the code reader's saying it's the intake air temperature sensor. Engine's running rough too. Anyone seen this at 185105 km?

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Toyota Corolla hybrid is experiencing a check engine light, rough engine performance, and significant power loss, especially on hills. The diagnostic tool indicates an issue with the intake air temperature sensor. A similar case was resolved by replacing the faulty sensor, which restored normal vehicle performance.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had a similar experience with my Corolla hybrid. Check engine light, loss of power… Was it also hard to start sometimes?

Hard to start? Not really, starts fine. But the power loss is brutal, especially on hills. Did your reader also point to the intake air temperature sensor? Anything else weird?

Yep, the diagnostic tool showed the same error: intake air temperature sensor. I didn't mess with it myself; took it straight to the workshop. Turned out the sensor was kaput. They swapped it out, and everything's been smooth sailing since.

Sounds like a trip to the shop is in order. Thanks for the heads-up! It was indeed the intake air temperature sensor - 155€ including labour. Much appreciated!
