Corolla multifunction steering wheel issue

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid. The multifunction steering wheel is totally dead. None of the buttons work, and I'm getting an error stored in the system. I'm thinking it might be a connectivity problem, maybe something loose in the steering column? Has anyone else run into this?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. Turned out to be a faulty connection in the steering wheel. Did you check the fuses?

Good call! I'll check the fuses first thing in the morning. But if it's not the fuses, could it really be a cable connection problem? I'm trying to avoid a hefty bill if possible.

Yeah, in my case with the Opel, the diagnostics pointed to a defective cable connection inside the steering wheel. Best to get it checked at a workshop. They can pinpoint the issue exactly. Don't drive around with that malfunction indicator on!

You were spot on! Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed a defective cable connection in the steering wheel. Cost me 95€ to get it fixed. Thanks for the help!
