Corolla Oil Level Sensor Fault

I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla with a diesel engine. I'm getting an error message and warning light in the speedometer, plus the oil pressure warning lamp lights up. Error memory indicates a faulty oil level sensor signal. Mileage is at 60177 km. Suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my Corolla. Is the error intermittent, or is it always present? I'd check the sensor connector first, make sure it's clean and properly seated. Could also be a faulty sensor, but wiring is more common.

The error is always present. Where exactly is the oil level sensor located on the 2003 diesel Corolla?

It's usually on the lower part of the oil pan. Given that the error is constant, and you suspect the wiring, a visit to a workshop might be a good idea. Could be more than just a loose connection.

Thanks for the advice. Ended up being a faulty connection as initially suspected. Workshop confirmed and repaired it. Cost me 95€.
