Corolla steering problem

Steering problems, eh? I had something similar happen with my Corolla, though I can't remember the exact year of manufacture. Felt like wrestling an alligator at times. The shaking is a worry, too. Did you get any alignment problems before this started? It could be the sensor, but have you checked the basics like power steering fluid level and belt tension? Sometimes it's the simple things that get overlooked. Has the car been throwing any warning lights?

After the mechanic looked at it, the coding of the steering angle sensor was faulty and was the problem. The cost for the replacement and recalibration was 195€. Thank you for your help!
