Corolla sunroof initialization error
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Toyota Corolla hybrid displayed a "sunroof not initialized" error, causing the sunblind to get stuck and the convertible top to become inoperable. The issue likely stemmed from recent software changes or system adjustments. The recommended solution was to take the car to a workshop for a full system reset and recalibration, which resolved the problem.

Okay, I admit I was poking around in the system. But Volvo, huh? Different beast, isn't it? What did you do to fix yours? Did you manage some sort of magical reset, or did you have to take it to a professional?

Unfortunately, there was no magic involved. I ended up taking it to a workshop. They told me the software needed recalibration. It seems like when those systems get out of whack, there is no easy way for us laymen to fix it. I'd suggest the same for you. Better safe than sorry, and definitely better than a permanently stuck sunroof!

Ugh, workshop it is then. Took it in. Turns out the sunroof needed a full system reset and recalibration, just like you said. Cost me 75€, but at least I can open the roof again. Appreciate the input!

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old 2018 Volvo XC60 after some enthusiastic software tweaks. The panoramic roof just refused to work. Did you recently change any software or mess with any of the car's settings? Any details could help narrow this down!
