Corolla transport mode active electrical malfunction

I've got a 2011 Toyota Corolla, diesel engine, with nearly 200k km on the clock. It's showing 'transport mode active' and seems to have a general electrical malfunction. The navigation is also dead. I'm guessing it thinks it's new, but it's not.

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Toyota Corolla with a diesel engine and nearly 200,000 km displayed a 'transport mode active' message and experienced electrical malfunctions, including a dead navigation system. The issue was suspected to be related to the vehicle mistakenly identifying itself as new. A diagnostic check was recommended to identify any error codes and determine the root cause. The problem was resolved by a dealer who reset the transport mode, resolving the electrical issues at no cost.

The symptoms you've described, particularly the 'transport mode active' message coupled with electrical malfunctions and navigation failure, certainly point to a deeper issue than just a mistaken 'new vehicle' status. Could you clarify if the engine starts and runs normally, or are there any issues related to starting or performance? Have you tried a diagnostic check to retrieve any error codes? This could offer vital insights into the root cause of these issues.

Engine starts fine. I haven't done a diagnostic check myself. Would that show something even if it seems to drive okay?

The fact that the engine starts and runs normally is indeed a significant piece of information. Even if the vehicle appears to be driving without any noticeable performance issues, a diagnostic check is still highly recommended. Modern vehicles, especially those equipped with navigation systems and complex electronic control units, often store error codes related to malfunctioning systems that may not immediately manifest as driveability concerns. Given the nature of the problem, it is advisable to seek assistance from a qualified automotive technician or a reputable repair shop. They possess the specialized diagnostic tools and expertise required to perform a thorough system analysis and identify the underlying cause of the 'transport mode active' message and associated electrical issues. It may require a software reset.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Took it to the dealer, they plugged it in and reset the transport mode. All good, 0€ cost.
